About Our Practice in Winfield

Dr. Carolyn Karwoski holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, and is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry.
She has completed clinical rotations in Advanced Care and Low Vision at Gottlieb Eye Center in Melrose Park, Contact Lenses at Chicago Cornea Consultants in Hoffman Estates and in Highland Park, and Primary Care at Great Lakes Veterans Administration Hospital.
Dr. Karwoski and her husband live in Wheaton, Illinois. When not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends.
She loves cooking, reading, and traveling, especially to Michoacan, Mexico, to see her family. Dr. Karwoski is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Jacob comes to us from a family legacy of opticians, beginning with his grandmother and including both of his parents.
His work history at a large optical chain led him to the relationship-driven private practice experience we offer. He is a certified optician and has a passion for taking the time to find the best solutions for his patients.
When not spending time adding to his collection of 30+ pairs of personal eyewear, his interests include studying history and going fishing.

Melissa is our Ophthalmic Medical Assistant and Dry Eye and Myopia Management Ambassador.
She recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Lewis University. She is a lifelong Winfield resident and went to St. John the Baptist from preschool to eighth grade.
When not at work, she enjoys hiking, bowling, and watching TV shows. She also loves hanging out with her family and her 2 puppies, Milo and Midnight!

Taryn is our front desk coordinator. She has over 25 years of experience in customer service. She enjoys working hard to provide every patient with a pleasant experience.
When not at work, Taryn enjoys cooking and taking care of her fur babies, Zeus, Lilo, and Tinkerbell. Taryn also loves traveling to the Smoky Mountains, watching movies, and enjoying the cool fall air.
